Rear Bumper Fascia Bracket Replacement LWB SWB

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
3. Remove the rear bumper fascia guide rail. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Outer Support Replacement.




Important: The rear bumper fascia lower support retaining rivets are single use parts. They must be discarded after removal.

4. Drill out the rear bumper fascia guide rail retaining rivets (2).

Discard the rivets.

5. Remove the rear bumper fascia guide rail (1) from the vehicle.

1. Position the rear bumper fascia guide rail (1) to the vehicle.



2. Install NEW rear bumper fascia guide rail retaining rivets (2)
3. Install the rear bumper fascia guide rail. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Outer Support Replacement.
4. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
5. Lower the vehicle.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the rear quarter end cap. Refer to Tail Lamp Mount Panel Replacement.
3. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
4. Remove the rear bumper fascia outer support. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Outer Support Replacement.




Important: The rear bumper fascia lower support retaining rivets are single use parts. They must be discarded after removal.

5. Drill out the rear bumper fascia guide rail retaining rivets (2).

Discard the rivets.

6. Remove the rear bumper fascia guide rail (1) from the vehicle.

1. Secure the rear bumper fascia lower support (1) in a suitable position.



2. Remove 60 mm length and 5.0 mm depth of the indicated bracket material (1) using a suitable tool.
3. Remove all burrs from the cut edge with a suitable tool.
4. Position the rear bumper fascia guide rail to the vehicle.



5. Install NEW rear bumper fascia guide rail retaining rivets (2).
6. Install the rear bumper fascia outer support. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Outer Support Replacement.
7. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
8. Install the rear quarter end cap. Refer to Tail Lamp Mount Panel Replacement.
9. Lower the vehicle.

Rear Bumper Fascia Bracket Replacement Sportwagon

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.




Important: The rear bumper fascia support to quarter panel retaining rivet (1) is a single use part and must be discarded after removal.

3. Drill out and remove the rear bumper fascia support to quarter panel retaining rivet (1).

Discard the rivet.

Important: The rear bumper fascia bracket to quarter panel retaining rivets (3) are single use parts and must be discarded after removal.

4. Drill out and remove the rear bumper fascia bracket to quarter panel retaining rivets (3).

Discard the rivets.

5. Remove the rear bumper fascia bracket (2) from the vehicle.

1. Position a NEW rear bumper fascia bracket (2) to the vehicle by sliding under the rear bumper fascia support.
2. Install NEW rear bumper fascia bracket to quarter panel retaining rivets (3).
3. Install a NEW rear bumper fascia support to quarter panel retaining rivet (1).
4. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement.
5. Lower the vehicle.
