When the "Service Error/Contact Dealer" indicator illuminates in the DIC, it indicates a fault in the instrument panel cluster (IPC). The "Service Error/Contact Dealer" indicator is displayed until you press the TRIP/RESET switch. The indicator symbol then reverts to the original trip computer display.
"X Service" appears at the bottom of the DIC and remains illuminated until the problem has been rectified.
• | System voltage is between 9-16 volts. |
• | Ignition switch is in the ON position. |
• | The instrument panel cluster (IPC) operating temperature is below 40 °C or above 85°C |
• | The IPC has a shorted or open circuit. |
• | The IPC internal temperature has exceeded the specified operating range. |
The IPC shuts down or fails to display the correct information.
• | The DTC becomes history when the condition for setting the DTC is no longer present. |
• | The history DTC clears after 40 malfunction-free warm-up cycles. |
