Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1785032 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve connector.
  3. Remove the EGR valve retaining bolts.
  4. Remove the EGR valve and the gasket from the EGR valve adapter.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1785034 Size: SH
  1. Clean the EGR valve adapter mating surface.
  2. Install a new EGR valve gasket.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1785032 Size: SH
  3. Install the EGR valve with the bolts.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the EGR valve retaining bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  4. Connect the EGR valve connector.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
