Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement 2.0L Engine

Removal Procedure

    Important: The left-hand drive model is shown. The right-hand drive model is similar.

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the power steering fluid.
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 1825807  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts (1, 2) from the cooling pipe bracket in front of the radiator.
  6. Remove the bolt (3) from the cooling pipe bracket under the left headlamp.
  7. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  8. Remove the hoses (2, 3) from the pipes (1, 4) near the left lower side of the front bumper.
  9. Remove the cooling pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Route the cooling pipe/hose from the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose to the reservoir inlet pipe/hose.

  2. Object Number: 1825811  Size: SH
  3. Install the hoses (2, 3) to the pipes (1, 4) near the left lower side of the front bumper.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1825807  Size: SH
  5. Install the bolt (3) to the cooling pipe bracket under the left headlamp.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten bolt to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).

  7. Install the bolts (1, 2) to the cooling pipe brackets in front of the radiator.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).

  9. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  10. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  11. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  12. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  13. Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
  14. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement 3.2L Engine

Removal Procedure

    Important: The left-hand drive model is shown. The right-hand drive model is similar.

  1. Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the power steering fluid.
  5. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .

  7. Remove the bolts (1, 2) from the cooling pipe bracket in front of the radiator.
  8. Remove the bolt (3) from the cooling pipe bracket under the left headlamp.
  9. Notice: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Remove the hoses (2, 3) from the pipes (1, 4) near the left lower side of the front bumper.
  11. Remove the cooling pipe/hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Notice in the Preface section.

  1. Route the cooling pipe/hose from the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose to the reservoir inlet pipe/hose.

  3. Install the hoses (2, 3) to the pipes (1, 4) near the left lower side of the front bumper.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the bolt (3) to the cooling pipe bracket under the left headlamp.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten bolt to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).

  7. Install the bolts (1, 2) to the cooling pipe brackets in front of the radiator.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).

  9. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  10. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  11. Notice: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Notice in the Preface section.

  12. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  13. Notice: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Notice in the Preface section.

  14. Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
  15. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  16. Lower the vehicle.
