Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1820504 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1822566 Size: SH
  3. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  4. Remove the oil filter housing fitting bolt.
  5. Disconnect the engine oil cooler inlet/outlet hoses.
  6. Remove the engine oil cooler with the O-ring.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1822566 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine oil cooler with the O-ring.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Connect the engine oil cooler inlet/outlet hoses.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil filter housing fitting bolt to 50 N·m (36.9 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine oil filter housing with a new O-ring.
  4. Install the oil filter housing adapter plate.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter housing adapter plate to 40 N·m (29.5 lb ft).


    Object Number: 1822563 Size: SH
  5. Install the engine oil filter and cap with a new O-ring.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil filter cap to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft).
