Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Caution: Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.

  3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge solenoid valve connector.
  4. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
  5. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolt from the intake manifold.
  6. Unclip the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve from the mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1758561  Size: SH
  1. Attach the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve to the mounting bracket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve and the mounting bracket to the intake manifold with the bracket bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bracket bolt to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Connect the vacuum hoses to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
  6. Connect the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve connector.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
