Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1820433 Size: SH

    Important: Make sure to confirm that the components are cool and work.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the charge air system hoses and ducts. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement .

    4. Object Number: 1820483 Size: SH
  4. Remove the PCV valve and adapter. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve Replacement and Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .
  5. Remove the pre-catalyst converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement .

    6. Object Number: 1820618 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the turbocharger actuator connector.
  7. Remove the turbocharger wheel bearing oil inlet pipe.
  8. Disconnect the turbocharger wheel bearing oil out hose.
  9. Remove the turbocharger.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1820618 Size: SH
  1. Install the turbocharger to the exhaust manifold.
  2. Install the turbocharger wheel bearing oil inlet pipe.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Connect the turbocharger wheel bearing oil out hose.

    4. Tighten

        • Tighten the turbocharger tightening nuts to 34 N·m (25.1  lb ft).
        • Tighten the turbocharger wheel bearing oil inlet pipe bolts to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).
