KM-470-B Angular Torque Gage

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1758631  Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
  2. Remove the oil suction pipe with the O-ring.
  3. Remove the oil pan scraper.

  4. Object Number: 1765846  Size: SH
  5. Remove the crankshaft balancer unit assembly retaining bolts.
  6. Remove the crankshaft balancer unit assembly and the shim.

Adjustment Procedure


    Object Number: 1758598  Size: SH
  1. Align the mark on the crankshaft gear with the notch at the bottom of the rear timing belt cover.

  2. Object Number: 1758696  Size: SH
  3. Turn the crankshaft gear using the crankshaft gear bolt so that the flattened sides (arrows) of both balancer shafts face the oil pan side and are on a horizontal line.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1765846  Size: SH

    Note: Before installing the crankshaft balancer unit assembly, perform the crankshaft balancer unit adjustment for the proper operation.

  1. Carefully install the shim and the crankshaft balancer unit assembly.
  2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the crankshaft balancer unit assembly retaining bolts.
  4. • Tighten bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
    • Turn the bolts another 45 degrees using KM-470-B gage .

    Object Number: 1758631  Size: SH
    • Install the oil pan scraper and tighten bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
    • Install the oil suction pipe with the new O-ring and tighten bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
    • Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
