    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement
  3. Disconnect the EGR vacuum solenoid valve inlet/outlet hoses.
  4. Disconnect the EGR vacuum solenoid valve connector.

    5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Remove the EGR vacuum solenoid valve and tighten the retaining bolts to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
