Removal Procedure

    Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1820504 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  3. Remove the charge air system hoses and ducts. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement.
  4. Remove the fuel filter assembly. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement.

    5. Object Number: 1822563 Size: SH
  5. Drain the engine oil.
  6. Remove the oil filter housing drain bolt with washer and drain the engine oil in the oil filter housing.
  7. Remove the oil filter cap with the O-ring.

    8. Note: Check the engine oil maintenance interval and replace the engine oil filter according to the interval. Also, you can check the engine oil remaining life in the scan tool.

  8. Remove the oil filter.

  9. Remove the oil filter housing adapter plate.
  10. Remove the oil filter housing with the O-ring.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1822564 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine oil filter housing with a new O-ring.
  2. Install the oil filter housing adapter plate and tighten to 40 N·m (29.5 lb ft).

    3. Object Number: 1822563 Size: SH
  3. Install the engine oil filter and cap with a new O-ring and tighten the cap to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft).
  4. Install the oil filter housing drain bolt with washer.

    5. Object Number: 1820504 Size: SH
  5. Install the fuel filter assembly. Refer to Fuel Filter Replacement.
  6. Install the charge air system hoses and ducts. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement.
  7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
