🢒 Master Cylinder Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the brake fluid reservoir-to-master cylinder pins and remove the reservoir from the master cylinder.
Remove the brake pipe fittings from the master cylinder.
Plug the brake pipe openings and the brake fluid reservoir to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Remove the master cylinder-to-brake booster nuts.
Remove the master cylinder and drain the brake fluid.
Installation Procedure
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the master cylinder to the brake booster and tighten to
13 N·m (115 lb in)
.
Unplug all the openings.
Install the brake pipe fittings to the master cylinder and tighten to
16 N·m (12 lb ft)
.
Install the brake pipe fluid reservoir-to-master cylinder pins.
Add the brake fluid.
Check for leaks.
Recheck the fluid level.
Bleed the brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
