Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement 2.0L Engine
Removal Procedure
Note: The left-hand drive model is shown. The right-hand drive model is similar.
- Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
- Remove the engine beauty cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement.
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the power steering fluid. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.
- Remove the bolts from the reservoir.
Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution in the Preface section.
- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.
- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose (1) from the power steering pump inlet (4).
- Remove the underhood auxiliary fuse block.
- Remove the bolts from the reservoir outlet pipe/hose brackets.
- Remove the reservoir outlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution in the Preface section.
- Route the reservoir outlet pipe/hose from the reservoir to the pump.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the bolts to the reservoir outlet pipe/hose brackets and tighten to
10N·m (88.5 lb in).
- Install the underhood auxiliary fuse block.
- Install the reservoir outlet hose (1) and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet (4).
- Install the reservoir outlet hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir.
- Install the bolts to the reservoir and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the engine beauty cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement.
Caution: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Caution in the Preface section.
- Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to
Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
Caution: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Caution in the Preface section.
- Inspect for leaks. If there are leaks, correct the cause of the leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Fluid Leaks.
- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding.
Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement 3.2L Engine
Removal Procedure
Note: The left-hand drive model is shown. The right-hand drive model is similar.
- Siphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the power steering fluid. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.
- Remove the bolts from the reservoir.
Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution in the Preface section.
- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
- Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose (1) from the power steering pump inlet (2).
- Remove the nuts (3) and the bolts (1) from the reservoir outlet pipe/hose brackets (2, 4).
- Remove the reservoir outlet pipe/hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution in the Preface section.
- Route the reservoir outlet pipe/hose from the reservoir to the pump.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the nuts (3) and the bolts (1) to the reservoir outlet pipe/hose brackets (2, 4) and tighten to
10N·m (88.5 lb in).
- Install the reservoir outlet hose (1) and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet (2).
- Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
- Install the reservoir outlet hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir.
- Install the bolts to the reservoir and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in).

- Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to
Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
Caution: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Caution in the Preface section.

- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding.
- Lower the vehicle.

Removal Procedure

- Remove the reservoir bolts.
- Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the power steering fluid. Use a rag in order to absorb any spilled fluid.

- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.
- Loosen the hose clamp and remove the reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump inlet.
- Remove the bolts from the brackets.
- Remove the reservoir outlet hose from the vehicle.

- Route the reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir to the pump.

- Install the bolts to the brackets and tighten to
10N·m (88.5 lb in).
- Install the reservoir outlet hose and the hose clamp to the power steering pump inlet.
- Install the reservoir outlet hose and the hose clamp to the reservoir.
- Install the bolts to the reservoir and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in).

- Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to
