Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 929855  Size: SH
  3. Remove the strut assembly to body fasteners.
  4. Remove the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  5. Object Number: 932918  Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake hose bracket from the strut assembly.

  7. Object Number: 933116  Size: SH
  8. Loosen, do not remove the strut to knuckle bolts and nuts.

  9. Object Number: 929862  Size: SH
  10. Disconnect the stabilizer link from the strut assembly.

  11. Object Number: 929934  Size: SH
  12. Remove the strut to knuckle bolts and nuts. Discard the bolts and nuts.
  13. Remove the strut assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 929855  Size: SH
  1. Install the Strut assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Tighten

        • Tighten the strut to body nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the strut to body bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  3. Attach the strut to the steering knuckle using new bolts and nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).

  5. Inspect the stabilizer link seals for damage and replace the link as necessary.

  6. Object Number: 929862  Size: SH

    Important: Do not allow the stabilizer link ball stud to rotate while installing the link nut.

  7. Connect the stabilizer link to the strut.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).


    Object Number: 932918  Size: SH
  9. Install the brake hose bracket to the strut assembly.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the brake bracket bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  11. Install the wheel and tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Perform a wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
