The driver information center (DIC) displays the DIC WOW for 5 seconds when it first powers up and the DIC displays the information that was last displayed before the engine was turned OFF. The DIC display can be accessed by pressing the trip reset switch. To scroll through the available functions, press and release the trip reset switch.

The DIC hybrid economy indicator menu is used to enable or disable the hybrid economy indicator. Press and hold the reset switch until the hybrid economy indicator menu displays in the DIC. The DIC displays SET ECO HOLD STEM and provides a choice of ON/OFF.
The driver information center (DIC) displays the compass based on serial data message from the BCM. The compass module communicates with the body control module (BCM) through a bi-directional data circuit. The instrument panel cluster (IPC) receives compass information from the BCM via the serial data circuit. The compass is displayed in the DIC with other vehicle information and is displayed at the top line of the DIC. The compass display is "- -" (dashes) when a malfunction is present with the compass module or a compass serial data communication fault exists. The compass displays 'CAL' or 'C' when the compass needs to be calibrated. Cycle the ignition before performing the compass magnetic variation zone adjustment procedure. The trip/reset switch is used to change the compass zone or calibrate the compass.
Check that the compass module is properly installed in the vehicle since this may cause the compass to malfunction. The embossed arrow on the top of the compass module should be parallel to the centerline of the vehicle.
For the compass calibration and variance, refer to Compass Calibration and Magnetic Variance.
The trip odometer can be accessed through the DIC trip reset switch. This is the current distance travelled in either miles or kilometers. Press and release the trip reset switch until TRIP A or B displays. To reset to zero, press and hold the reset switch while trip odometer A or B is displayed.
The driver information center (DIC) displays the outside air temperature based on serial data message from the HVAC controller. The outside air temperature can be displayed in English or Metric Units. English or Metric Units can be selected from the DIC. The DIC displays (-- -- --) when an invalid outside air temperature is received or communication is lost with the HVAC controller. Turning the trip reset switch left or right when the out side air temperature is selected changes the outside air temperature units from English to Metric units.
The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the odometer in the driver information center (DIC) based on vehicle speed information from the ECM. The ECM sends the vehicle speed data to the IPC via the serial data circuit. The IPC calculates and stores the vehicle odometer. When a new valid vehicle speed information is received from the ECM, the IPC calculates and updates the odometer display in the DIC and stores the new reading in non volatile memory. The DIC displays the vehicle odometer information in either miles or kilometers.
