Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Support the transmission with a transmission jack stand.
3. Disconnect the steering shaft coupler from the steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .
4. Remove the steering gear to frame bolts. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .
5. Position the steering gear up out of the way to gain clearance for removal of the rear transmission mount.

110 N·m (81 lb ft)
