Preliminary Procedure

Remove the turn signal switch bracket. Refer to Turn Signal Switch Bracket Replacement.

Ignition/Start Switch Housing Bolt

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

1. Use a small chisel and hammer to back out the ignition/start switch housing bolt counterclockwise and remove it.
2. When installing a new ignition/start switch housing bolt continue to tighten it until the head shears off.

Procedure

Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.

Tip
The ignition lock cylinder must be turned to the run position in order to remove and/or install the ignition/start switch housing.
