Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1887297 Size: SH
  1. Remove the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .
  2. Remove the engine wiring harness heat shield nut (3).
  3. Remove the engine wiring harness heat shield bolts (1 and 4).
  4. Remove the engine wiring harness heat shield (2).

    5. Object Number: 1887298 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (3).

    6. Object Number: 1587763 Size: SH
  6. Remove the CKP sensor stud.
  7. Remove the CKP sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1587763 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
  2. Remove the CKP sensor.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the CKP sensor stud.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the stud to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) to the CKP sensor (3).

    5. Object Number: 1887297 Size: SH
  5. Install the engine wiring harness heat shield (2).
  6. Install the engine wiring harness heat shield bolts (1 and 4).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the engine wiring harness heat shield nut (3).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side .
  9. Perform the CKP system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn .

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1887297 Size: SH
  1. Remove the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side.
  2. Remove the engine wiring harness heat shield nut (3).
  3. Remove the engine wiring harness heat shield bolts (1 and 4).
  4. Remove the engine wiring harness heat shield (2).

    5. Object Number: 1887298 Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (3).

    6. Object Number: 1587763 Size: SH
  6. Remove the CKP sensor stud.
  7. Remove the CKP sensor.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1587763 Size: SH
  1. Lubricate the CKP sensor O-ring with clean engine oil.
  2. Remove the CKP sensor.

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the CKP sensor stud.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the stud to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  4. Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (4) to the CKP sensor (3).

    5. Object Number: 1887297 Size: SH
  5. Install the engine wiring harness heat shield (2).
  6. Install the engine wiring harness heat shield bolts (1 and 4).

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the engine wiring harness heat shield nut (3).

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  8. Install the right catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Right Side.
  9. Perform the CKP system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn.
