Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2009 🢒 Captiva Sport 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Electrical 🢒 Battery Positive Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

    2. Object Number: 2030262 Size: SH
  2. Remove the electronic control module bracket retaining nuts (1) and bolts (2).
  3. Disconnect the positive battery junction block assembly from the bracket.

    4. Object Number: 1999419 Size: SH
  4. Loosen the positive battery cable terminal nut (1) and secure the battery positive cable (2) out of the way.
  5. Remove the generator control module cover. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement

    6. Object Number: 1998501 Size: SH
  6. Remove the following components from the generator control module.
    7. • Fusible link nut (1)
    •  Fusible link bolt (2)
  7. Remove the fusible link cable from the generator control module.
  8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

    9. Object Number: 1878823 Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the positive cable (1) from the starter.
  10. Remove the positive battery cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Route the positive battery cable the same way as originally installed.

  1. Install the positive battery cable to the vehicle and position accordingly.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1878823 Size: SH
  2. Install the positive battery cable (1) to the starter solenoid BAT stud.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the nut (4) to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Position the fusible link cable to the generator control module.

    5. Object Number: 1998501 Size: SH
  5. Install the following components to the generator control module.
    6. • Fusible link nut (1)
    •  Fusible link bolt (2)

    Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and bolts to 10 N·m (89  lb  in).

  6. Install the generator control module cover. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement.

    7. Object Number: 1999419 Size: SH
  7. Install the positive battery cable to the battery.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (45  lb  in).


    Object Number: 2030262 Size: SH
  8. Install the electronic control module bracket retaining nuts (1) and bolts (2).

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and bolts to 10 N·m (89  lb  in).

  9. Connect the positive battery junction block assembly to the bracket.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
