Tools Required

J 45059 Angle Meter


    Object Number: 1403908 Size: SH

    Important: Do not use any sealing material.

  1. Install the cylinder head gasket to the block.
  2. Install the cylinder head.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 412510 Size: SH

    Important: Always use new cylinder head bolts.

  3. Install and tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence.

    4. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
        • Tighten the bolts an additional 155 degrees in sequence. Use the J 45059 .

  4. Install the front cylinder head bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    Object Number: 2148512 Size: SH

    Note: Do not use any sealing material.

  1. Install the cylinder head gasket (2) to the block.
  2. Install the cylinder head (1).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 412510 Size: SH

    Note: Always use new cylinder head bolts.

  3. Install and tighten the cylinder head bolts in sequence.
    4. • Tighten the bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
    • Using the J 45059 meter , tighten the bolts an additional 155 degrees in sequence.

  4. Install the front cylinder head bolts (1) and tighten to 35 N·m  (26 lb ft).
