Makes 🢒 Chevrolet 🢒 2009 🢒 Captiva Sport 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 3.5L 🢒 Valve Lifter Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1583141 Size: SH
  1. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement .
  2. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .

    3. Important: The valve lifter guide bolts are not removable.

  3. Loosen the valve lifter guide bolts.
  4. Remove the valve lifter guides.

    5. Object Number: 1583142 Size: SH
  5. Remove the valve lifters from the valve lifter guides.
  6. Clean all gasket surfaces with degreaser.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1557686 Size: SH
  1. Coat the valve lifters using prelube. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  2. Install the valve lifters to the cylinder bores.
  3. Apply threadlock to the valve lifter guide bolt threads. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  4. Install the valve lifter guides.

    5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Tighten the valve lifter guide bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement .
  7. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement .

Removal Procedure

    3. Note: The valve lifter guide bolts are not removable.

  4. Remove the valve lifter guides.

  5. Tighten the valve lifter guide bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  6. Install the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement.
  7. Install the lower intake manifold. Refer to Lower Intake Manifold Replacement.
