Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
- Rotate the positive cable terminal lever (1) to the release position.
- Remove the positive battery cable terminal (2) from the battery.
- Remove the battery hold down strap fastener (1).
- Remove the battery hold down (2) from the battery and battery tray.
- Remove the battery (1) from the vehicle.
Note: The battery hold down strap has a retaining feature built into the upper part of the strap.
Installation Procedure
- Position the battery (1) into the vehicle.
- Install the battery hold down (2) to the battery and battery tray.
- Install the battery hold down strap fastener (1) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Position the positive battery cable terminal (2) to the battery.
- Move the terminal lever (1) into the latched position.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
