CAMPAIGN:PULSAIR CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY CORROSION REVISION

Model and Year: 1983 CHEVROLET CAVALIER EQUIPPED WITH 2.OL ENGINE (RPO LQ5 VIN CODE "P") AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (FEDERAL EMISSIONS) OR MANUAL AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS (CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS)

The following revises the Claim Infomation and Service Procedure sections of Product Safety Campaign 83C24 dated November, 1987.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

If the part number stamp is 22035900 and there is no date code stamp present, then replacement of the Pulsair Check Valve assembly is required. If the part number stamp is 22035900 and a date code stamp is present, refer to the original bulletin to determine if replacement is required.

Inspect-replace 1 22048208 ** 00 V4285 0.9 0.1 pulsair valve assy. only with cruise control

Inspect-replace 1 17075121 ** 00 V4286 0.9 0.1 shut off valve only with cruise control

Inspect-replace 2 22048208 ** 00 V4287 0.9 0.1 shut off valve & pulsair valve assy.-with cruise control

*Campaign Administrative Allowance

** The "Parts Allowance" should be the sum total of the current GMSPO Dealer Net price plus 30% of all parts required for the repair.

Dealers will automatically receive the correct labor and material allowance based on the labor operation performed.
