CONVERTIBLE TOP HYDRAULIC FLUID (CORRECT SHOP MANUAL)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: ALL MODELS EQUIPPED WITH FOLDING TOP SYSTEMS

The Body Service Manual currently recommends that the hydraulic system of the folding top on convertibles should use either mineral oil or high grade brake fluid. Since 1984, Type A transmission fluid has been used in these systems. This bulletin is notification of a correction to the service manual that Type A transmission fluld is used in folding top hydraulic systems. If it is necessary to add fluid to a system determine whether mineral oil, brake fluid or transmission fluid was used. An appropriate label should be present to identify the fluid in use. Do not intermix fluids.
