I/P COMPARTMENT DOOR STRIKER REINFORCEMENT

VEHICLES AFFECTED : 1982 1983 CHEVROLET CAVALIERS... A CRACK IN THE STRIKER ATTACHMENT SURFACE OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPARTMENT DOOR MAY OCCUR ON SOME 1982-83 CAVALIERS WHEN AN ABNORMAL AMOUNT OF FORCE IS EXERTED TO THE STRIKER ASSEMBLY. THE FABRICATION AND ATTACHMENT OF A METAL MOUNTING PLATE CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED BY USE OF THE ATTACHED GRAPHIC INSTRUCTION SHEET. THE USE OF THIS PLATE WILL ELIMINATE THE NEED FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. FOR WARRANTY CLAIMS PURPOSES, USE AN APPROPRIATE LABOR OPERATION MUMBER AND CLAIM 1.2 HOURS. (ILLUSTRATION)
