THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND SUPERSEDES DEALER SERVICE BULLETIN NO. 89-316-10, DATED AUGUST 1990. THE MODEL YEAR HAS BEEN CORRECTED. ALL COPIES OF 89-316-10 SHOULD BE DISCARDED.
The original equipment body side molding with a bright metallic insert could curl due to uneven expansion rate of the two materials. This would cause them to loosen and/or fall off.
To correct this condition it will be necessary to replace the moldings with an improved type. However, the new moldings are solid black and will require replacement of all body side moldings as a kit.
These kits are currently available through GMSPO as follows:

Labor Operation Number: T4670 (35-69 styles) T4671 (37 styles) Labor Time: 0.8 hour (35-69 Styles) 0.6 hour (37 Style) Trouble Code: 92
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
