SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE TEMPERATURE SWITCH CONNECTOR

Model and Year: 1988 CAVALIER WITH 2.0L ENGINE

The engine metal temperature switch that was used on the cavalier carline with the 2.OL (VIN 1) engine, was eliminated in 1988. An illustration in section 6D5 (engine wiring) incorrectly points to a "metal temperature switch connector" (item 9) on page 6D5-1, Figure 1 in the 1988 Cavalier Service Manual.

Please draw a line through the legend and the art at item 9 on your copy of the service manual

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
