CONV. BOOT DIFFICULT TO ATTACH RUBBER RETAINER TO MOLDING

Model and Year: 1988-89 CAVALIER CONVERTIBLE

TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

Some owners of 1988-89 Cavalier Convertibles may comment on the boot not retaining to the molding after installation at the rear outboard corners.

Inspect:

------- 1. Lower the convertible top and install the top boot as described in the Convertible Owners Manual Supplement.

2. Check the retention of the boot rubber retainer to the molding at the rear outboard corners. If the retention of the boot retainer to the molding is unsatisfactory, or if rubber retainer does not retain to the molding, the boot rubber retainer may be modified as follows:

Top Boot

Remove or Disconnect (See illustration)

1. Top boot from molding.

2. Using a sharp knife, cut lower lip of boot rubber retainer as shown in illustration.

Install or Connect

1. Top boot to molding.

Inspect

Top boot rubber retainer for proper retention to molding.
