I/P AIR OUTLET/VENT ASSY LOOSE INSTALL FOAM TAPE TO AIR DUCT

SUBJECT: I/P AIR OUTLET/VENT ASSEMBLY LOOSE (INSTALL FOAM TAPE TO I/P AIR OUTLET CAVITY)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1991 CHEVROLET CAVALIER "J" CAR

Condition:

---------- Some 1991 Cavaliers may experience a condition where the centre Instrument Panel (I/P) air outlet may rattle, become loose or fall out.

Cause :

I/P cavity may have increased clearance causing a loose condition.

Correction:

------------ 1. Remove I/P air outlet by pulling rearward. 2. Install a 22mm (7/8 in.) by 22mm (7/8) piece of foam tape such as 3M #4508 or equivalent to I/P as shown in Illustration. 3. Replace I/P air outlet to I/P by pushing forward on air outlet.
