--------- Some owners of 1992-93 J cars and 1993 L cars with the 2.2L LN2 (VIN Code 4) engines may comment of the presence of a fuel odor.
----- In a very small number of cases, the fuel pressure regulator may be stuck in the closed position causing a leak at the fuel injector seal.
---------- To assure customer satisfaction and prevent comebacks, check vehicle fuel pressure using the fuel system pressure test found in the service manual Section 6E3, Chart A-7. If Chart A-7 leads you to replace the fuel pressure regulator, then replace all of the following parts using the procedures in the appropriate service manual Section 6E3-C2.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
