I/P TRIM PAD - FIGURE 1 =======================
DURING I/P TRIM PAD REMOVAL, THE PAD MAY CRACK IF THE HIDDEN SCREWS IN THE GLOVE BOX ARE NOT REMOVED. DURING INSTALLATION OF THE I/P TRIM PAD, IF THE HIDDEN SCREWS ARE NOT REINSTALLED, THERE MAY BE A RATTLE PRESENT.
IF THE TECHNICIAN DOES NOT SEE AND REMOVE THE HIDDEN SCREWS AND ATTEMPTS TO REMOVE THE I/P TRIM PAD, THE PAD COULD BE DAMAGED. THE SCREWS ARE LOCATED IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE GLOVE BOX. SINCE THE SCREWS ARE HIDDEN, IT IS ALSO EASY TO FORGET TO INSTALL THEM WHICH WILL CAUSE A RATTLE CONDITION.
REFER TO FIGURE 1 FOR THE LOCATION OF THE HIDDEN SCREWS IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE GLOVE BOX. THIS REVISED FIGURE 1 SHOULD ALSO BE ADDED TO THE 1995 AND 1996 SERVICE MANUAL TO REPLACE FIGURE 19.
I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE - FIGURE 2 =================================
DURING I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE REMOVAL, IT IS EASY TO CRACK THE ASSEMBLY IF IT IS PRYED LOOSE FROM THE I/P ANYWHERE BUT NEAR THE RETAINING CLIPS.
THE I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE MATERIAL IS NOT DESIGNED TO BE PRYED ON EXCEPT NEAR THE RETAINING CLIP LOCATIONS.
REFER TO FIGURE 2 FOR THE LOCATION OF THE CLIPS ON THE I/P CLUSTER TRIM PLATE. DURING REMOVAL, ONLY PRY AROUND THE AREAS WHERE THE CLIPS ARE LOCATED. FIGURE 2 SHOULD ALSO BE ADDED TO THE 1995 AND 1996 SERVICE MANUAL TO REPLACE FIGURE 24.
