DEFINITION: Noise occurs in REVERSE gear only

1. Disassemble the transaxle case. Refer to Transmission Case Disassemble

Check the following components for wear or damage.

•	The idler gear

•	The idler gear bushing

•	The input gear

•	The output gear

Are any of the components worn or damaged?

Go to Step 2.

Refer to Transmission Replacement

Service, repair, or replace the components as necessary. Refer to Transmission Case Assemble

Did the noise disappear?

System OK.
