DEFINITION: Transaxle "knocks" at low speeds

Check for a worn or damaged drive axle joint. Refer to Drive Axle Diagnosis in Drive Axle.

Is the drive axle joint OK?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 2

Repair or replace the worn or damaged drive axle joint. Refer to Drive Axle Replacement in Drive Axle.

Has the knock disappeared?

System OK

Go to Step 3

1. Remove the transaxle assembly. Refer to Transmission Replacement
2. Check for a worn side gear hub counterbore.

Is the counterbore OK?

System OK

Go to Step 4

Repair or replace the worn counterbore. Refer to Transmission Case Disassemble

Has the knock disappeared?

System OK
