Condition

Some customers may comment about a squawk/squeak type noise coming from the front and/or rear suspension area of the vehicle. This noise is more apparent when the vehicle is operated over irregular road surfaces and can be heard inside the vehicle passenger compartment.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a slip/stick condition between the bushings of the stabilizer shaft and the stabilizer shaft bushings.

Correction

Replace the existing stabilizer shaft bushings with the correct part number listed below. The newly designed oil-impregnated bushings should be selected according to model and suspension level RPO. To ensure the correct installation, refer to the Front Suspension and Rear Suspension sub-sections of the appropriate Service Manual.
