Removal Procedure
- Remove the front purge line from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
- Remove the rear purge line from the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
- Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector.
- Insert a screwdriver between the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve and the mounting bracket to release the lock tab.
- Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve mounting bracket attaching nut (when replacing bracket).
- Remove the bracket.
Notice: The EVAP canister may have released carbon particles which caused this part to fail and may cause damage to other components. Check the EVAP canister for loose carbon before returning the vehicle to service.
Installation Procedure
- Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve mounting bracket and the attaching nut.
- Slide the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve onto the mounting bracket. Making sure the lock tab locks the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve in to place
- Connect the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve electrical connector.
- Connect the rear purge line to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
- Connect the front purge line to the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve mounting bracket attaching
nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
