Radiator Hose Replacement 2.2L Upper

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 25810  Size: SH
  3. Remove the radiator inlet hose and the clamps (1) from the radiator.
  4. Remove the radiator inlet hose and the clamps (1) from the engine.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Make sure the reference marks on the hoses and the radiator are lined up. A twist on the hose would place strain on the radiator fitting which could cause the fitting to crack or break.


    Object Number: 25810  Size: SH
  1. Install the radiator inlet hose and the clamps (1) to engine.
  2. Install the radiator inlet hose and the clamp (1) to the radiator.
  3. Fill cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  4. Start the engine. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature, check for coolant leaks.

Radiator Hose Replacement 2.4L Upper

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove bolt retaining battery cables to battery tray.
  3. Drain cooling system below radiator outlet. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  4. Object Number: 25972  Size: SH
  5. Remove upper radiator hose from water outlet.
  6. Remove the radiator outlet hose from radiator and remove hose.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Make sure the reference marks on the hoses and the radiator are lined up. A twist on the hose would place strain on the radiator fitting which could cause the fitting to crack or break.

  1. Install upper radiator hose to radiator.

  2. Object Number: 25972  Size: SH
  3. Install upper radiator hose to water outlet.
  4. Install bolt to retain battery cable to battery tray.
  5. Install battery. Refer to Battery Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  6. Fill cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  7. Start the engine. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature, check for coolant leaks.

Radiator Hose Replacement 2.4L Lower

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove lower radiator hose from surge tank.
  3. Raise vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  4. Object Number: 25807  Size: SH
  5. Remove lower radiator hose (1) from radiator pipe outlet (3).
  6. Remove lower radiator hose from radiator and remove hose.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Make sure the reference marks on the hoses and the radiator are lined up. A twist on the hose would place strain on the radiator fitting which could cause the fitting to crack or break.

  1. Install lower radiator hose to radiator.

  2. Object Number: 25807  Size: SH
  3. Install lower radiator hose (1) to radiator pipe outlet (3).
  4. Install bolt to retain battery cable to battery tray.
  5. Lower vehicle.
  6. Install lower radiator hose to surge tank.
  7. Fill cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Start the engine. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature, check for coolant leaks.

Radiator Hose Replacement 2.2L Lower

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 25810  Size: SH
  3. Remove the radiator outlet hose and the clamps (2) from the following areas.
  4. • Radiator
    • Engine
    • Surge tank
  5. Remove the radiator outlet hose (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Make sure the reference marks on the hoses and the radiator are lined up. A twist on the hose would place strain on the radiator fitting which could cause the fitting to crack or break.

  1. Install the radiator outlet hose (2) to vehicle.
  2. Install the radiator outlet hose and the clamps (2) to the following areas.
  3. • Radiator
    • Engine
    • Surge tank
  4. Fill cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  5. Start the engine. After the engine reaches normal operating temperature, check for coolant leaks.
