Heater Hoses Replacement 2.2L (LN2)

Removal Procedure
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L.
  3. Reposition the ignition control module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L.

    4. Object Number: 636736 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater pipes.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    6. Object Number: 636737 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
  7. Remove the heater hoses from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 636736 Size: SH
  1. Install the heater hoses to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the heater hoses to the heater pipes. Ensure that the hose clamps are secured.

    3. Object Number: 636737 Size: SH
  3. Connect the heater hoses to the heater core. Ensure the hose clamps are secured.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Reposition and install the ignition control module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L.
  6. Install the air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.2L.
  7. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

Heater Hoses Replacement 2.4L

Quick Connect Retainer

The quick connect retainer is located on the end of the heater outlet pipe on 2.4L applications. You may remove and replace the quick connect retainer if needed. Whenever the heater hose quick disconnect is disconnected, replace the retainer.

Removal Procedure
  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

    2. Object Number: 292739 Size: SH
  2. Squeeze the tabs on the quick-connect (3) in order to disconnect the heater hose (1) from the heater pipe (4).
  3. Disconnect the heater hose (1) from the inlet housing.
  4. Disconnect the heater hoses (1) from the heater core.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 292739 Size: SH
  1. Connect the heater hoses (1) to the heater core.
  2. Connect the top hose (1) to the inlet housing.
  3. Connect the heater hose (1) to the heater pipe quick-connect (3).

    4. Pull on the hose in order to verify the connection.

  4. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
