Installation Procedure

Important: NEW A/C compressors are shipped WITHOUT poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) oil. Only use the approved Pag Oil, failure to do so will result in system failure.

  1. If a NEW A/C compressor is being installed, add 60 ml (2 oz), of PAG Oil to the compressor.

  2. Object Number: 657573 Size: SH
  3. If reinstalling the OLD A/C compressor perform the following:
  4. • Drain, measure and record the amount of PAG oil from both the suction and discharge ports and the crankcase in the A/C compressor.
    • If the measured amount of PAG oil drained is less than or equal to 60 ml (2 oz), add 60 ml (2 oz) of new, clean PAG oil to the A/C compressor.
    • If the measured amount of PAG oil drained is greater than 60 ml (2 oz), add the same amount of new clean PAG oil to the A/C compressor.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the compressor crankcase oil drain bolt.
  6. Tighten
Tighten the compressor crankcase oil drain bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft.)

    Object Number: 302606 Size: SH
