Inspection Procedure
- Pull up and down on the transaxle case while observing the front
lower transaxle mount.
- Replace a mount when the following conditions occur:
- The rubber separates from the metal case.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- If movement occurs
between the metal plate of the mount and its attaching point, tighten the
mount bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).
Removal Procedure
- Remove the washer solvent container. Refer to
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement
in Wipers/Washer.
- Raise and suitably support
the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the left front wheel and tire assemblies. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tire
and Wheels.
- Remove the left front fender liners. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Position the following items in order to support the transaxle:
- Remove the transaxle mount
through-bolt.
- Remove the transaxle to
engine block bolts.
