Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 104490  Size: SH
  3. Remove the automatic transmission control lever handle retainer.
  4. Remove the automatic transmission control lever handle.
  5. Remove the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

  6. Object Number: 104480  Size: SH
  7. Remove the range select lever cable from the automatic transmission control.
  8. Remove the electrical connector.

  9. Object Number: 104495  Size: SH
  10. Remove the automatic transmission control nuts.
  11. Remove the automatic transmission control.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104495  Size: SH
  1. Install the automatic transmission control.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the automatic transmission control nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the electrical connector.

  7. Install the range select lever cable to the automatic transmission control.
  8. Install the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.

  9. Object Number: 104490  Size: SH
  10. Install the automatic transmission control lever handle.
  11. Install the automatic transmission control lever handle retainer.
  12. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
