    • The cover is worn (802)
    • A thrust washer is missing (6)
    • The governor seal is worn or cut (7)
    • The governor spring is not seated (4)
    • The governor weights are binding on a pin (4)
    • A ball is missing (4)
    • The governor driven gear is stripped (4)

Intermediate Servo (128-137)

    • The piston to case oil seal is damaged (132)
    • The servo piston is damaged (133)
    • The servo bore in the case is damaged (15)

Accumulator Exhaust Check Valve (125, 126)

The valve is not seating in the case

Case (15)

    • The direct clutch accumulator cup plug is leaking or missing
    • The case to governor shaft sleeve is missing or is damaged (3)
    • The center gasket is leaking (416)

Case Cover (401)

    • The case cover bolts are loose
    • The driven sprocket support passages are interconnected, are leaking or are restricted (602)
    • The driven sprocket support oil seal rings are damaged or are missing
    • The sleeve is loose or is out of position

    • The 2-3 shift valve or the 2-3 TV valve are sticking (316, 317)

    • The direct clutch feed orifice is restricted
    • The #5 checkball is missing or is mislocated (16)

Spacer Plate (20)

The spacer plate or the gaskets are leaking, are damaged, or are incorrectly installed (19, 20)

Case to Governor Shaft Sleeve

Damaged or missing

Direct Clutch (608-617)

    • The checkball is leaking (609)
    • The checkball capsule is damaged (610)
    • The seals are damaged or missing (612, 614)
    • The housing or the piston is cracked or damaged (610, 615)
    • The backing plate snap ring is out of the groove (617)
    • The clutch plates are damaged or are missing (618)
