Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch Replacement 2.4L (LD9)

Tools Required

J 35749 Oil Pressure Switch Socket

Removal Procedure

  1. Turn off the ignition.

  2. Object Number: 12956  Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil pressure sensor connector.
  4. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor (1) using the J 35749

Installation Procedure

  1. Coat the sensor threads with sealer.

  2. Object Number: 12956  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the oil pressure sensor (1) with the J 35749
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Reconnect the oil pressure sensor connector.

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor or Switch Replacement 2.2L (LN2)

J 35749 Oil Pressure Switch Socket

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 192825  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator.
  2. Disconnect the oil pressure electrical connector.
  3. Remove the engine oil pressure sensor (1) usingJ 35749 .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 192825  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine oil pressure sensor (1) using J 35749 .
  2. Connect the oil pressure electrical connector.
  3. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator.
