Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 279004  Size: SH
  1. Remove the finish screw that retains the upper trim panel to the door.

  2. Object Number: 279005  Size: SH
  3. If manual rear view mirror, slide the trim panel off over the manual mirror handle.

  4. Object Number: 279006  Size: SH
  5. If power rear view mirror, for the left side, turn the trim panel over and remove the Allen head set screw from the control assembly.
  6. Remove the upper trim finish panel from the front door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 279004  Size: SH
  1. Position the upper trim finish panel to the door.

  2. Object Number: 279005  Size: SH
  3. If manual rear view mirror, slide the panel over the mirror handle.

  4. Object Number: 279006  Size: SH
  5. If power, position the control assembly in the panel and install the set screw.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the power mirror set screw to the control assembly.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  9. Install the upper trim panel screw.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.3 N·m (12 lb in).
