Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 315760  Size: SH
  5. Remove the rear door lock screws.

  6. Object Number: 736509  Size: MH
  7. Remove the rear door outside handle. Refer to Door Handle Rod Adjustment - Front Outside .
  8. Disconnect the electrical connector to the power lock, if equipped.
  9. Remove the door lock.
  10. Remove the inside handle rod, and lock rod from the lock.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the inside handle rod, and lock rod to the lock.

  2. Object Number: 736509  Size: MH
  3. Position the lock in the rear door.
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the power lock.
  5. Install the rear door outside handle. Refer to Door Handle Rod Adjustment - Front Outside .

  6. Object Number: 315760  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the rear door lock screws in sequence.
  8. Tighten

    1. Tighten the top rear door lock screw (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
    2. Tighten the bottom rear door lock screw (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
    3. Tighten the middle rear door lock screw (3) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  9. Install the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  10. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  11. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
