Removal Procedure

  1. Open and support the rear door.
  2. Open the front door.
  3. Using a grease pencil, mark the location of the hinges to the center pillar.
  4. With an assistant, remove the hinge to pillar bolts.
  5. With an assistant, remove the hinge to pillar nuts.

  6. Object Number: 772958  Size: SH
  7. Move the door away from the vehicle as far as the rubber conduit will permit.
  8. Remove the rear door rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  9. Remove the rear door.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 772958  Size: SH
  1. With an assistant, position the rear door to the vehicle.
  2. Install the rear door rubber conduit. Refer to Rear Side Door Conduit Replacement .
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the hinge to pillar bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the door hinge bolts to 26 N·m (218 lb ft).

  6. Install the hinge to pillar nuts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the door hinge nuts to 26 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Carefully close the door. Inspect the door for proper alignment.
