Removal Procedure
- Remove the front seat back pad and cover. Refer to
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement
.
- Remove the lumbar knob (4)
with a small flat-bladed tool.
- Remove the actuator screws (5).
- Remove the actuator cable from the seat cushion frame (3).
- Remove the actuator (6) using the following steps:
5.1. | Recline the seatback to the full reclined position. |
5.2. | Disconnect the cable from the actuator (6). |
- Remove the lumbar retaining clips (9) from the seatback
frame (1).
- Remove the lumbar assembly (2) from the seat back frame (1).
Installation Procedure
- Install the lumbar assembly (2)
to the seatback frame (1).
Use new retaining clips (9) when you secure the lumbar assembly (2)
to the seatback frame (1).
- Install the front seatback pad and the front seatback cover. Refer
to
Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement
.
- Install the actuator (6) by connecting the cable.
- Install the actuator cable to the seat cushion frame (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the actuator
screws (5).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Install the lumbar knob (4) to the actuator by pressing
until fully seated.
