Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 279117 Size: MH
  1. Remove enough of the rear seat back pad and cover (2) to gain access to the rear seat back latch. Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the seat back latch rivets (6).
  3. Remove the rear seat back latch bolts (7).
  4. Remove the rear seat back latch (4).
  5. Disconnect the strap (5) from the rear seat back latch (4).

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the strap (5) to the rear seat back latch (4).
  2. Install the rear seat back latch (4).

    3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear seat back latch bolts (7).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in)

  4. Install the rear seat back latch rivets (6).
  5. Install the rear seat back pad and cover (2). Refer to Rear Seat Back Cushion Cover Replacement .
