Rear Compartment Lid Applique Replacement Pontiac Sedan

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 283973  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the wire harness sockets from the back-up light.
  2. Remove the rear compartment lid applique nuts (1).
  3. Remove the rear compartment lid applique (5) from the rear compartment (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 283973  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear compartment lid applique (5) to the rear compartment (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear compartment lid applique nuts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear compartment lid applique nuts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Connect the wire harness sockets to the back-up light assemblies.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the compartment lid applique nuts (5).

  2. Object Number: 741030  Size: SH
  3. Lift up the applique and remove the grommet (3) from the deck lid.
  4. Disconnect the wire harness sockets (2) from the license lamp.
  5. Remove the compartment applique (4) from the rear compartment lid.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the harness sockets (2) to the license lamp.
  2. Install the grommet (3) to the deck lid.

  3. Object Number: 741030  Size: SH
  4. Install the rear compartment lid applique (4).
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure.
