The rear compartment lid release solenoid is controlled by the body control module (BCM). The BCM supplies battery positive voltage to the rear compartment lid release solenoid control circuit when the key fob trunk release button is pressed. The rear compartment lid release solenoid is case grounded. The trunk ajar indicator is illuminated when the deck lid switch is closed. The deck lid switch completes the path to ground for the trunk ajar circuit when the rear deck lid is opened.
