Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  3. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  4. Remove the clip securing the inside handle rods to the door.

    5. Object Number: 293875 Size: SH
  5. Use side cutters in order to cut off the outside handle rod-to-lock clip from the lock.
  6. Unscrew the remainder of the clip from the outside handle rod.

    7. Discard the clip.

  7. Remove the screws (1, 2, 3) securing the lock to the door.

    8. Object Number: 315755 Size: MH
  8. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the inside handle rod, and lock rod from the lock.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 315755 Size: MH
  1. Install the inside handle rods to the lock.
  2. Install the door lock in position through the access hole in the door inner panel.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Use Loctite® Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to installing the fasteners.

  4. Install the door lock screws in the correct fastener tightening sequence.

    5. Tighten

    1. Tighten the top door lock screw (1) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
    2. Tighten the bottom door lock screw (2) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
    3. Tighten the middle door lock screw (3) to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  5. Press a new outside handle rod-to-lock clip onto the door lock lever.
  6. Position the outside door handle rod in the clip in order to eliminate any free play in the outside door handle.

  7. Press the clip cover closed over the threaded outside door handle rod.
  8. Install the clip to the inside handle rods.
  9. Remove the inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .
  10. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
  11. Install the trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
