Removal Procedure

  1. Remove outlet duct and resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.

  2. Object Number: 620362  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  4. Disconnect the positive battery cable at the battery.
  5. Lift fuse/relay center to access power lead bolt.
  6. Remove power lead bolt from fuse/relay center.

  7. Object Number: 620364  Size: SH
  8. Cut the tape holding the 2 cables together at the retainer on the battery tray.

  9. Object Number: 620361  Size: SH
  10. Cut the tape holding the 2 cables together near the transmission electical plug.
  11. Remove the positive battery cable to starter solenoid nut.
  12. Remove the positive battery cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 620361  Size: SH
  1. Position the new cable in the vehicle in the same location as the old cable.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the positive battery cable to starter solenoid nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  5. Tape the cables together at the transmission electrical connector.

  6. Object Number: 620364  Size: SH
  7. Tape the cables together at the battery tray.
  8. Install power lead bolt to fuse/relay center.
  9. Install fuse/relay center.

  10. Object Number: 620362  Size: SH
  11. Install the positive battery cable end onto the battery.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the battery positive cable terminal bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  14. Install the outlet duct and resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
